Welcome to Weingut Altenkirch – the family-run winery in Aulhausen, a quiet neighborhood in Rüdesheim am Rhein.

Our passion for wine and our dedication to quality are reflected in every sip of our wines. From sparkling Rieslings to powerful Pinot Noirs – we have the perfect drop for every taste and occasion. We, Walter and Christian, run our small 2-hectare winery as a family business out of love for wine and our beautiful landscape. We cultivate vineyards in the absolute top locations "Rüdesheimer Berg Roseneck," "Assmannshäuser Frankenthal," and "Assmannshäuser Höllenberg."

Experience the beauty of the vineyards while visiting our wine depots, or come to our winery and let yourself be inspired by the quality, taste, and hospitality of the Rheingau. We look forward to welcoming you and presenting our wines. To ensure that your visit is worthwhile, we kindly ask you to register before coming.

Wine Depots

You can also enjoy our wines while hiking with a magnificent view of the Rhine Valley. In the vineyards of Rüdesheim and Assmannshausen, we have set up small wine depots along the Rhine Trail at the rest area "Laadhütt," at the red wine gazebo in Assmannshausen, and at the Historical Path at the rest area "Ehrenfelsblick." There you will find a selection of our wines, glasses, and seating. A hidden gem is the wine depot at "Walter's Wine Gazebo" below the rest area "Ehrenfelsblick." To comply with youth protection laws, you can only open the wine cellar after verifying your age using a card reader. For this, you will need either an ID card or an EU driver's license.
