Now it's time for a short walk through the Obergasse and the Eibingen district up to St. Hildegard's Abbey. You should definitely not miss this scan. Once upon a time, this place was and still is home to true female power: Hildegard von Bingen and the 44 Power Women of today's abbey.
From here, the trail leads through the vineyards, always with the Rhine and the vines in view, down to the outskirts of Rüdesheim. Behind the cemetery, the trail passes under the railroad underpass. Once you have crossed the road (B42), a quiet path leads to the ruins of the Hindenburg Bridge. Over 1100 meters that have disappeared: The Hindenburg Bridge was once the second largest bridge over the Rhine. Today, not much is left of it. Find out why in the scan of the "Bridge of Remembrance".
From here you return to the starting point via Kastanienallee and the harbor park along the Rhine.
