The name Störzel was first mentioned in the archives of the city of Rüdesheim am Rhein in 1647 and has since been closely associated with the theme of viticulture and Rhine culture.
Today, the winery is run by Adolf Störzel's family.
After completing his apprenticeship as a winemaker, Adolf Störzel expanded the initially small winery with a few vineyards into a 10-hectare wine-growing operation. In the next generation, his son Benedikt is ready, who is active in the winery after studying viticulture and oenology at the Geisenheim University of Wine.
As is typical for the Rheingau, Riesling and Spätburgunder are the focus of the cultivation.
