Due to strong demand for the tour on International Women's Day in March, Rüdesheim Tourist AG is offering an additional date on May 18 for the tour themed "Strong Women in the Rheingau - Hildegard of Bingen". The tour lasts approximately 1.5 hours and starts at 1:30 PM. Afterwards, there will be coffee and cake in the cozy Klostercafé (included in the price).

Hildegard of Bingen (1098-1179) is one of the most significant and fascinating personalities of the Middle Ages. She was a visionary, natural scientist, healer, politician, composer, theologian, and founded two monasteries (Rupertsberg on the Nahe and in Rüdesheim-Eibingen). Many of her writings, especially her knowledge of natural healing, have lasted to this day.
Join tour guide Jacqueline Palzer on an exploratory tour around the Abbey of St. Hildegard, which was built from 1900 to 1904. Following the tour, we will end the afternoon with coffee and cake in the Klostercafé of the Abbey of St. Hildegard.
The tour in German starts at 1:30 PM and lasts 1.5 - 2 hours plus a coffee break
The meeting point for the tour is in the small park in front of the monastery church. A short circular route will make stops at many stations. Good footwear and weather-appropriate clothing should be considered for the short walking distance. The tour takes place in any weather. After the tour, there will be coffee and cake in the Klostercafé (included in the price of 22 euros).
The Klostercafé
The tour ends around 3:30 PM with coffee and cake at the Klostercafé. The Klostercafé has been an inclusion enterprise of the Abbey of St. Hildegard since 2020. Ending around 4:30 PM.
Before or after the tour, a visit to the monastery shop, which is open until 5:00 PM, is worthwhile.
