Winery Tavern

For over 40 years, our family has been running a winery tavern in the Magdalenenhof.

Walter and Hildegunde Blaes opened a Straußwirtschaft (a type of seasonal wine tavern) in the former pressing house of the winery in 1978. Over the years, it transformed into a winery tavern. Initially open for just four months to market their own wine, today our winery tavern operates year-round. The menu has adapted to guest preferences and now includes warm dishes, in addition to typical Rhine Valley snacks, that pair excellently with our wines. Only our own estate wines from various vineyard locations in Rüdesheim are served.

During the summer months, you can enjoy the unique atmosphere of our house on the newly built sun terrace, cozy autumn and winter evenings in the winter garden, or the comfortable rooms in the former pressing house.

Many guests from the surrounding area or our regular guests from the Rhine-Main region continually find their way to us in the Magdalenenhof. We also always look forward to welcoming new guests who want to get to know our house, especially familiar faces from near and far who appreciate the personal atmosphere of our establishment.

Winery

Our winery is located in one of the most scenic regions of Germany – the Rheingau. We combine quality with innovation, achieving tastefully mature wines of high quality. We own and cultivate vineyards in the well-known sites of Rüdesheimer Magdalenenkreuz, Rüdesheimer Kirchenpfad, and Rüdesheimer Rottland. We particularly focus on Riesling and the blue Pinot Noir, but also on the almost forgotten Müller Thurgau and the incomparable Saint Laurent. Our wines can be purchased in our on-site Vinothek or through our online shop.

Vinothek

Currently, we offer a 10% discount on all wines from our Vinothek for every bottle purchased with a minimum order of 6 bottles. Excluded are promotional wines and all other items from our assortment.

In our Vinothek, you will find many gifts related to wine, such as fruit brandies, liqueurs, fruit spreads, candies, vinegars, and oils.

We gladly pack your gifts in a festive manner and we also ensure timely shipping of bottled wines to your family or friends before the holidays.
