The name Störzel was first mentioned in the archives of the town of Rüdesheim am Rhein in 1647 and has been closely associated with viticulture and Rhine culture ever since.
Today, the winery is family-run by Adolf Störzel. Adolf Störzel, after his apprenticeship as a winemaker, expanded what was initially a few vineyards into a 10-hectare winery. The next generation is his son Benedikt, who after his studies in viticulture and oenology at the Wine University of Geisenheim is also active in the winery. As is typical for the Rheingau, the focus of cultivation is Riesling and Pinot Noir.
