Monasteries are cult. Wine and hiking too. All of this is brought together by the nuns of the Abbey of St. Hildegard, theologian Anke Jarzina, and the Rheingau cultural and wine ambassador Wolfgang Blum during the Hildegard Wine Walks. On March 23, the focus will be on trees.

During the “Wine Walk” of the Benedictine nuns of the Abbey of St. Hildegard on Sunday, March 23, the significance of trees will be the focus. The cozy circular hike starts at 1 PM in the monastery vineyard below the abbey church. Outdoor chaplain Anke Jarzina will point out the beneficial effects of trees along the way. Petra Lauter from the parish of Heilig Kreuz will present the Arboretum project, where regionally typical trees are to be planted as an avenue. Sister Thekla, head of the monastery's own vineyard, will share her experiences as a winemaker. Cultural and wine ambassador Wolfgang Blum will highlight the charms of the Rheingau.
After the hike, the monastery shop will be open exclusively for participants. Afterwards, they can listen to Vespers in the abbey, the sung evening prayer of the Benedictine nuns (5:30-6:00 PM).
