The tradition of the KARL SCHÖN winery dates back to 1752 and is now run by the family in the 9th generation.
We cultivate 5 hectares of vineyards with about 30,000 vines in Assmannshausen and Rüdesheim - Pinot Noir from the top site Assmannshäuser Höllenberg as well as Riesling wines from the premier sites of the Rüdesheimer Berg. Rivaner and Weißburgunder complement the range of grape varieties.
Despite road construction and land consolidation, managing the steep slopes is still quite challenging in our time and is associated with labor-intensive manual work.
Our Pinot Noir red wines are all fermented with the skins using traditional methods and have matured in old wooden barrels. Our Riesling wines show freshness and zest in their youth, have excellent aging potential, and offer a unique tasting experience even after decades.
