The Rüdesheim district of Presberg lies far away from the hustle and bustle of tourism on the Rhine. Silence reigns in “Monte Preso”, as the village is affectionately known. The name was coined by the former parish priest Theo Zentgraf, known as Zeta, who was a friend of Italy.

The start portal near the Weißenthurm forester's lodge is in a historic location: This is where the Rheingau Gebück, a rampart of curved hedges, ran in the Middle Ages. It began in Walluf and ended in Lorchhausen.

The trail starts by crossing the L3272 country road. Caution is advised here! Shortly afterwards, you immerse yourself in the tranquillity of the forest, which is particularly varied. After just under 2 km, you reach the old Kissner beech tree. It has survived many generations and is somewhat decrepit. Shortly afterwards, a path takes you to the Grolochtal, a secluded valley surrounded by wooded slopes, where the animals of the forest come together.

Following the forest road, you reach the crossing to the other side of the valley. An old hollow path leads up to the meadows in the middle of the wooded slopes. After crossing the road, the trail reveals a completely different side: panoramic views of the Rheingau Alps and far beyond the Wispertaunus.

After the descent into the upper Presberg valley, the ascent to the Kerzer Kopf (407 m), which rises strikingly out of the landscape, follows. Here, the panorama once again presents itself in all its glory. The view extends as far as the Hunsrück. There is a barbecue area with a refuge slightly off the trail. If an additional 3 km is not too much for you, you can take the branch path to the Teufelsfelsen rock and back shortly after the Kerzer Kopf.

The last stage of the tour zigzags across open fields and past paddocks to the starting point.
