Riesling and Pinot Noir - wines from the Rheingau Our winery is considered small with an area of around 2 hectares.
Our Riesling and Pinot Noir wines are grown on the slopes of the upper Rheingau and the world-famous Assmannshäuser Höllenberg. The slate soils of the Rheingau region give the wine its characteristic taste.
The winemakers The Assmannshäuser Weingut Konrad Berg & Sohn, now run by Konrad Berg in the third generation, owns two hectares of the best vineyards such as Rüdesheimer Berg Schlossberg, Assmannshäuser Höllenberg and Lorcher Krone. The vineyards are planted with Riesling, Pinot Noir and Silvaner and some of the vines are over 60 years old. The vineyards are carefully and sustainably cultivated by hand to reduce yields. The vineyards in Rüdesheim, Assmannshausen and Lorch are all steep slopes and over 80% of them are "Erste Gewächse" vineyards. The grapes are still hand-picked and vinified with love and care. The finely balanced wines round off the palate of every wine lover.
