Not far from Johannisberg you pick up the trail of the Rheinsteig in the Rebenmeer. After the ascent to the forest, where you pass Haus Neugebauer, the Rheinsteig descends and leads to the active Marienthal monastery. Amusing forest passages follow and lead past the former Nothgottes monastery to the famous Eibingen Abbey, which goes back to Hildegard von Bingen. With a magnificent view, the Rheinsteig leads to the mountain station, from where you can descend to Rüdesheim.
